Cary-Based Psychologist Helps Found Marriage Counseling Organization
CARY, NC (June 1,2017) — Dr. Don Fernando Azevedo of Azevedo Family Psychology has been officially recognized as a founding member of the Doherty Leadership Institute’s Marriage Counseling Specialists group.
The Marriage Counseling Specialists are a group of the Institute’s therapists who specialize in couples therapy, specifically for those in long-term married relationships.
The Institute’s recommendation is a sign of quality and expertise in couples counseling.
As one of the founding members of the Institute’s Marriage Counseling Specialists, Dr. Azevedo will help the organization connect, empower, and network other marital therapists around the country.
Through these professional resources, the MCS group aims to further their mission of healing more marriages.

Dr. Don Fernando Azevedo holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee. After a tour with the 101st Airborne and years as a clinician in miscellaneous hospitals and private practices, he founded his own practice – Azevedo Family Psychology – in 2016. Centered around the idea of a “life worth celebrating,” the practice offers counseling for both individuals and couples.
